Once upon a time, there lived a farmer in
one of the agricultural plains in Nigeria
by name Mr. Idike. During one of the
planting season, the farmer and his family invested all their resources and
effort in planting, as that was their only
source of livelihood. The children had to
stop school in order to help in the farm
work. Day and night, they worked
tirelessly at their farm with the hope that during the time of harvest
they shall reap
abundantly.

Buchi Emecheta; A Woman Promoting Women through her Books.

I first got to know her through her book
"THE JOYS OF MOTHERHOOD". That
was many years ago when I was still in
primary school. The book captivated me I
just loved it even though some of the
words were too big for me considering my age and level of education then, yet it
didn't deter me,. I was just a kid deliving
joyfully into the world of books, writing
and literature and falling in love with it
thanks to writers like Buchi and her
inspiring works.

Her book opened another aspect of
women's world to me and helped me see
the relationship between women and the society they live in.

Permit me to ask the society these sensitive questions. Why do the
society accuse women of
being the cause of childlessness in a
marriage?

How many times have you spent extra hours into the night just to
accomplish a task. As a student I know how it is during exam period,
students spend their nights in the classroom studying. Pushing
themselves to their limit.

This is a new and fresh year with fresh potentials. Decide to start
this year on a positive note. Make up your mind to spend extra hours
studying if you are a student. Extra hours working to push your
business to a greater height as an entrepreneur. I want you to tag
this year the year of extra efforts, the year of extra hours, the year
of midnight candles. Don't forget that the difference between
extraordinary and ordinary is the 'extra'. High achiever are referred
to as those who are awake when others are sleeping. They never wasted
their time during the day, they just decided to use part of the night
to do something extra.

TIME TO WORK!

Now is time to work!
.
I will not forget what my friend JP BornGreat told me sometime ago. He
said: "Listen this is the time for you to work. Work, work and work
towards your goal. This is not the time for relaxation and fun. The
time for you to enjoy the fruits of your labour is coming."
.
This is the same thing am saying to you tonight. My dear as a youth
this is your prime time, the most productive period of your life.
Don't stop along the way, don't give up so easily. If this plan
doesn't work, plan another. I have said it before life is all about
strategizing and re-strategizing.
.
The secret to success is hardwork and perseverence. Work, work and
work, keep working. Keep doing those menial jobs and earning those
smaller wages, keep saving them whilst you plan for the greater
project ahead.
.
Be steadfast and diligent in your work, studies and business. Please
stop spending your hard earned money on frivolities, and "loose
ladies" Partying and clubbing!

The Promise.

THE PROMISE.
.
There was a promise from the lips of a prophet the words proclaimed
was of the Lord's. He said that he is sending a Messiah who is going
to do wonders. The promise of the maker of the earth did manifest and
today we are reminded that He did make a promise and fulfilled it.
.
Do you know that God is not a man who makes promises and never fulfils
it. There are men out there who have made countless marriage promises
to different ladies and never fulfiled any. Also some women have made
similar promises also and never fulfilled it. Have you made a promise
to anyone? Are you willing to fulfill the promise you made.
.
Listen never you make a promise you won't fulfill, be true always. Are
you the type that use marriage promises to lure unsuspecting ladies to
your bed? Stop! God is not happy with you. Are you a lady that use in
the name of marriage and love to win favours, please stop. Either you
are or you are not, no more pretence.
.
Come oh Immanuel!

Our sins crucified him.

Our sins crucified him.
.
It wasn't the Jews that crucified him because they did not know what
they were doing. It was our sins that crucified him. All those times
we told lies, we cheated people, we stole, we fornicated we were the
ones that crucified him.
.
For all the times we disobey God's commandment we take side with the
devil and make a mockery of what He did for us on Good Friday. He died
that we may live. He did what he needed to do in order to give us a
better life. Death and suffering came through the workings of satan,
this is why we shouldn't side with our enemy.
.
The year is gradually coming to an end, Christmas is just a few days
away. This is always a very tempting period for Christians. The
temptation to celebrate it in a grand style even when you don't have
the means will come don't give in. Whatever you have make do with
that, God is the only one who can make a poor man suddenly and
instantly rich.
.

DON'T LOSE HOPE, BE PATIENT.

Be Patient, Don't Lose Hope(Jas 5:7-10)
.
Many people give up at the point when they were closest to victory.
This month I have seen about 3 suicide cases. One was on Friday, the
young man came to morning mass that morning and killed himself later
in the evening. The other one is a young woman with children and then
we also have the case of a student taking his own life.
.
Why all these suicide cases, why are people taking their lives. Why do
they give up. Frustration, impatience, ungodliness, spiritual
manipulations and many other reasons could be given for it but none is
worth a reason.
.
You my dear friend Be patient, don't lose hope. Don't let anything
push into committing suicide, or committing crime or even engaging in
sexual immorality. No matter how difficult your situation may be don't
lose patience. In Igbo language it's said "NDIDI BU OGWU UWA" meaning
patience is the antidote to life.
.
Another advice Be closer to God. With God you will overcome those problems.

The death of Christ Jesus on the cross brought life to all. Some are
dead through sin but Christ Jesus brought cleansing and forgiveness
and gave them life again. Some are dead emotionaly, they have given up
having faced so many challenges in life. They are merely existing not
living. Christ Jesus came and brought them back to life. Their life
changed, life once again after a long time became beautiful.
.
If you are going through a very difficult situation don't lose hope.
It doesn't matter the type or name of sickness you are facing now,
Christ Jesus will bring your health back to life. No matter the degree
of your suffering, or of your pain or How long it has lasted. Christ
Jesus will bring joy back into your life.
.
Your help will come from heaven. Don't lose faith in him, place your
hope in the Lord. God will do for you the same good thing he is doing
in the life of others.
.
Always remember Good Friday and stand strong.

Find your Niche

Find your Niche.
.
Everyone has his or her niche, his own unique thing. As a writer I
know my area, my own niche. I don't write about everything but only on
those categories I am good at.
.
You as a person you have your own niche. Find it. Where do you feel at
home. A writer feels at home when he is writing. A priest feels at
home when he is preaching. A painter feels at home when he is
painting. A mother feels at home when she is taking care of the home,
her children and her husband.
.
Find your niche. When we were in high school we were meant to choose
between sciences and arts. Some chose science others chose arts but
after sometime some art student cross-carpeted to sciences and vice
versa. These people found out that where they chose wasn't these
niche, their home and had to change.
.
In life we are not meant to be good at everything but we must be best
in something. Look inside and outside of you where do you think you
will be fulfilled if you are there. In your niche what motivates you
is passion and fulfilment
.
